GEARS
The
gears have the function of transmitting the
mechanical motion can be used in the most varied applications such as
pumps, tractors, cars, motorcycles, engines,
compressors,
winches,
reducers can be produced with the most varied materials such as
case-hardening steels,
quenched and tempered steels as well as acetal resins POM, cast iron and others.
HELICAL GEAR
The
helical gear allows a constant speed transmission and in a more silent way of the rotary motion and of the power in way through
non-coaxial shafts.
This type of gears allows for smaller dimensions, better performance, reliability and resistance over time compared to other mechanical elements. Some of the advantages of helical toothed gears are the increased reach compared to others with straight teeth of the same size.
Like the latter, the former work with
parallel shafts, however the peculiarity of the helical tooth is to produce an axial thrust proportional to the angle of inclination of the tooth.
A variant is constituted by the
bi-helical gears, that is
cylindrical gears whose teeth are helical and with inverse helical, here the advantage is that the axial thrust is eliminated.
This type of gears also give the possibility to cut the teeth with a greater helix angle, which means that the overlap angle of the teeth is greater and consequently the motion exerted will also be stronger and more gradual.
WORM GEAR
The worm gear is often used in worm gearboxes from 40 to 350 mm in diameter in delrin bronze or steel.
The advantage of this type of gear is that, despite its small size, it gives the possibility to transmit a lot of power. That is, their ability to provide high torque reduction and multiplication ratios. Generally the toothed part is in bronze and is coupled with a worm screw. The applications of this type of kinematics are generally in the industrial field.
A very interesting aspect of this type of transmission is the non-reversibility of the motion.
SPROCKET
The sprocket is a gear often used for
sliding a drive chain. This gear is commonly found combined with a
toothed ring that has the function of
increasing the transmission force.
The sprocket can be used to
transmit motion to another wheel as in the case of motorcycles, automobiles and tracked machines, but also
linear motion to a belt.
