Abnormal breakage of the crown for worm gearbox: here's how to solve the problem

We recently had to manage a very complex problem for one of our customers who produces worm gearboxes. The problem to manage was the breaking of the plastic crown of the initial project. The customer who works in the biomedical sector does not know how to solve it and therefore asks us to help him find the best solution for him.
How to solve the problem?
First of all, we decided to find out if there were any spare parts on the market or similar. Once it became clear that there was no such thing, we proposed an alternative path. This means replacing the crown with one made of a much more resistant material but with similar characteristics: bronze.
After that, before putting the piece into production, we did all the necessary checks and tests to make sure it was really the correct solution. Finally, we put everything into production.
What do we deduce from this case study?
Surely, today it is no longer necessary to be mere interpreters of the piece but you really need to know how to have a consultative approach to the problem. More and more often, customers requesting an offer struggle to realize that the projects and drawings they submit to us have many errors. Which is more than normal and understandable, in fact each branch of mechanics is very complex and specific. For this reason, the supply chain must be chosen appropriately and have this propensity to provide quickly applicable solutions.
